Gender Equality Workshops & Consulting
Creating Gender-equal and inclusive organisations through transformative dialogue and creativity one step at the time
Does your organisation struggle with achieving its gender equality or diversity aspirations?
Do you have the impression that tackling gender equality at work becomes quickly either confrontational or stays at the level of good intentions? Numerous studies prove that a culture of equality correlates with higher job satisfaction and wellbeing, more innovation and better performance. But it can be challenging to bring about change that goes beyond the implementation of good practice.
collaboratio helvetica has developed a tested workshop format that allows employees to talk about gender equality while building trust and engaging the collective intelligence for generating ownership and new ideas for the way forward.
Whether you are already implementing diversity and inclusion measures or are just starting to look at it in your organisation, you can benefit from our unique approach.
What we offer:
We design and facilitate workshops that allow participants to explore aspects of gender on a personal, societal and organizational level. Through innovative small-group exercises, facilitated dialogue, deep listening and co-creation, participants will gain:
A deeper understanding and awareness of how gender influences behaviors and opportunities within their organisational culture
The opportunity to share perceptions and experiences in a safe and creative space
The ability to relate personally to the topic and build trust amongst colleagues
A chance to contribute to the ideation of concrete solutions
Our approach and methodology is based on Theory U, a MIT systems and leadership change approach and was developed during the first Gender Lab in 2017-2018 by leading experts in the field.
Each workshop will be tailored to your needs and specific situation and can be facilitated in English, German or French.

Or are you perhaps a team leader frustrated about the fact that leadership at the top is not taking enough action to move inclusion questions forward? We have been there!

About last Friday’s #frauenstreik... Why did we go to the streets? A little bit of historical tragicomedy and some current facts to shed a light on the reality of Gender Equity in Switzerland in the year 2019.
collaboratio helvetica was founded on the experience that more conscious collaboration is needed in order to properly deal with systemic challenges such as the ones contained in the Agenda 2030, and a hunch that a different kind of working together with unlikely allies was key.
“I was ready to work like a fool, but I wasn’t opened to the idea of sharing in a group what’s on my mind and heart. I was ready to figure out solutions for the problems out there, but I wasn’t ready to deal with my own weaknesses. I was ready to fight everything but myself.“
“Listening is probably the most underrated leadership capacity today, but listening is really at the source of all great leadership. When we see leadership failures, and today we have many opportunities to see that, very often, at the source of these failures is a lack of listening. A lack of connecting to what is really going on in reality right now.”
Today there is no shortage of research, tools and analysis on the importance and implications of gender (in-)equality in our society and workplaces. However, as we all know, progress is difficult and slow. Why?
To be honest, I thought I knew quite a lot about gender and diversity but what I found was that I actually still don’t know that much, which was a shock and a huge pill to swallow!
On June 12, WeSpace invited representatives of women communities in Zurich to the first cross-women-communities event. WeSpace aimed to provide a physical space for the teams to meet, interact and share. However, we understood the need of professional expertise to be able to meet this goal, therefore, Collaboratio Helvetica was the obvious co-host. WeSpace aims to act as the home-base for women communities where interactions and collaborations can continue in the future.

Despite pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies, Rhetoric and Public Discourse at the time, when my influential university professor, Shira Tarrant, introduced me to the field of gender justice, my entire worldview drastically changed.

There are many different perspectives on this topic, and different ways to look at an ideal future. Language is important, and we need to be aware of our own blind spots when falling into the binary man/woman. It’s a topic that’s inherently systemic but never not personal. The four clusters that were formed so far: inclusive language, power dynamics, entry points/dialogue and parenting/education.
