How can we strengthen nature-based education and nature-based learning in early childhood in order to contribute to a successful relationship with nature and more nature conservation?

Juliane Seyfert (SG)

Current field of activity: Director adult education - Waldkinder St. Gallen
The UN sustainability goals she promotes:
Ensure inclusive, equitable and quality education and promote opportunities for lifelong learning for all (SDG 4)
Protect, restore and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably manage forests, combat desertification, and halt and reverse land degradation and halt biodiversity loss (SDG 15)

Juliane Seyfert studied education and landscape ecology. During her studies, she campaigned for more sustainability and founded the FabLab, a project that aimed to rethink consumption and usage routines in the field of fashion. For the past six years, the St. Gallen resident has been working in the field of nature and education. As a leader of forest playgroups and later director and adult educator of Waldkinder St. Gallen, she raises awareness and inspires people of all ages for nature topics - always in the conviction that early access to nature has a decisive influence on the use of natural resources. Together with a colleague, she is planning a book publication on nature education and nature ethics.
