Breitling: Zero Plastic Waste by 2025
Plastic pollution is a global challenge and in its 2021 Sustainability Mission Report, Breitling committed to achieving zero plastic waste across operations by 2025. To engage key internal and external stakeholders on this ambitious goal, Breitling has collaborated with collaboratio helvetica and Let's Talk Waste to effectively address the topic with the relevant stakeholders.
Our Vision
The vision for this project is to have an impact not only on Breitling’s waste reduction but also on an awareness level that can spread far beyond the company’s reach.
Our Approach
In early 2023, stakeholders were invited to deepen their understanding of the topic and to reflect on how Breitling can most efficiently and meaningfully achieve its target.
The participants were carefully selected among key internal and external collaborators to ensure a relevant multi-stakeholder engagement.
We deepened the stakeholders’ knowledge involving facts, interrelationships and consequences of plastic waste by embodying a systemic and participatory approach, leading to finding a common ground on which to co-create the next steps.
Addressing Key Needs
While companies like Breitling have a global footprint, it is crucial to engage all the stakeholders when taking measures towards reducing plastic waste (or other challenges), to achieve sustainable change.
Stakeholders need to be brought together to foster a common understanding of the complexity of the challenge and to encourage collaboration on the issue.
