Navigating Transition: A New Chapter for collaboratio helvetica

Since 2017, collaboratio helvetica has worked tirelessly to promote and catalyse systems change, helping individuals and organisations tackle complex societal challenges towards the SDGs, and advancing the conversation around sustainable transformation in Switzerland. In 2024, we embarked on a strategy revision process to clarify our focus, while also addressing the financial challenges that many non-profit organisations face.

Since 2017, we have cultivated new forms of dialogue, collaboration and a cross-sector community of changemakers. We have shared our knowledge through speeches, workshops and our online Toolbox, empowered countless individuals and organisations to become agents of systems change, and overall contributed to capacity building in Switzerland.

After 8 years of innovation and progress, we are now entering a transition phase marked by both new opportunities and difficult decisions. While we are proud to pursue our systems change work with the Catalyst Lab, new learning journeys and a workshop series in 2025, financial constraints necessitated a reduction of resources in our other areas of work. We recognise that this shift means stepping away from some cherished programmes and initiatives, but it also opens the door to a new phase of learning and transformation.

We are deeply grateful for the contributions of our partners, supporters, and community members who have shaped our journey – and invite you to co-create the next chapter with us!

Strategy Revisions over the Years

Over the years, we gradually improved our strategy based on our learnings: The 2019 strategy revision led to the creation of our flagship project, the Catalyst Lab, and an in-depth evaluation process in 2022 sharpened our vision and mission for our roadmap 2030, introducing, amongst other elements, our strategic pillars.

In 2023, with the support of Mercator and Consense Consulting, we undertook an in-depth evaluation process to sharpen our focus, culminating in developing our new portfolio of learning journeys, workshops and courses.

Why a new strategy?

A lot has changed since 2017: The discussions about the SDGs were still new and a lot of work had to be put into spreading awareness on how to tackle them. Today, the importance of systemic change has reached societal awareness, both in Switzerland and globally. The need has therefore shifted from raising awareness to equipping individuals and organisations with the tools to intervene effectively.

Additionally, the Inner Development Goals (IDGs) have gained traction in Switzerland, with the growing awareness that change needs to happen within and around us. These developments have reinforced and informed our mission and shaped our new strategic focus.

With our expertise in awareness-based systems change, collaboratio helvetica addresses today’s challenges by providing learning journeys that empower individuals and organisations to become agents of sustainable change.

Our New Vision and Mission Statement

Vision

Our vision is a Switzerland where individuals, communities, and organisations collaborate seamlessly to drive systems change, co-creating a sustainable society guided by the values of humanity and ecological responsibility.

Mission

We empower individuals and organisations to become agents of systems change towards a more sustainable society through learning journeys and knowledge sharing.

Our New Services

With a new strategic focus come new, updated services.

  • Learning Journeys and Workshops: With our Catalyst Lab and our other Learning Journeys, we empower individuals and organisations with tools and methods to address systemic challenges effectively.

  • Project Development and Support: With our Project Nursery, we coach, support and empower Catalysts to develop their projects further by co-initiating and holding spaces for transformation, collaboration and co-creation.

  • Learning Community: With the self-organised Community for Systems Change on LinkedIn, we provide an online space where changemakers can connect, collaborate, and learn from each other.

What’s next?

We will be running the fifth edition of the Catalyst Lab until May 2025. In addition, we will continue to offer our co-created workshop series “Employee Engagement & Empowering Sustainability Managers”, develop more learning journeys, and remain open for potential future projects and collaborations.

Additionally, we are planning a new, self-financing edition of the Catalyst Lab in Zurich for the business and finance sector, as well as a Social Lab in Lichtensteig, Toggenburg, to foster sustainable collaboration between changemakers and the local population.

So, while facing the end of an era at collaboratio helvetica, we are eager to see what will emerge from this rich soil of knowledge, projects, and partnerships that have grown and flourished over the past eight years.

We invite our community to co-create this next chapter with us, ensuring that the seeds we have planted together not only grow but continue to inspire sustainable change for years to come!
