Catalyst Eliane Kern - SDG 11

Eliane Kern from Sissach (BL) has dedicated herself to bring about a shift in conciousness on a personal and collective level. While working on that on an individual level as a therapist, this purpose has led her to join the BaselWandel core team which is working on a strong network for societal transformation. Together with her colleagues from BaselWandel and catalyst lab participant Leslie Burkhalter, she is working on networking activities and events to co-shape change at a systemic level in the Basel area. With BaselWandel they offer an information and exchange platform for regional social and ecological projects. Eliane sees an important lever in healthy relationships and in appreciating and integrating diversity. "When everyone lives their truth, coherence emerges." During the Catalyst Lab, Eliane was able to further expand her network - even beyond national borders. Their projects are supported by public administration departments and foundations. For Eliane, personal development was a crucial part of the Catalyst Lab. "I got to know my strengths much better and learned how to use them wisely. Plus, the team dynamics within the Catalyst Lab, within BaselWandel and in my other projects fascinated me. This has also broadened my focus: Today, I am very much interested in the question of what structures make sense in order to work in a dynamic team.” Regardless of the structures, she is convinced that the change that wants to happen in today's world needs pioneers who strive to combine a clear mind, an open heart and a strong hand: “Combining wisdom and compassion and then implementing them in everyday activities and business is a profound personal and collective process. The methods in the Catalyst Lab support and promote this process.”
