Funding Systems Change Initiative
The Funding Systems Change Initiative is a collaborative effort driven by a coalition of foundations and changemakers in Switzerland, and led by Ashoka Switzerland and collaboratio helvetica. Recognizing the need for systemic solutions to tackle complex challenges, this initiative seeks to transform conventional funding practices and empower foundations to adopt and embrace transformative funding mechanisms.
Our Vision
We envision a philanthropic landscape in Switzerland that actively supports systemic solutions to address complex societal challenges.
Our Approach
Facilitate Co-Learning:
Foundations and changemakers collaborated to share insights, best practices, and innovative ideas.Prototyping and Testing:
Working groups designed and tested tools that challenge and transform traditional funding practices.
Addressing Key Needs
1. Broaden Funding Options: By exchanging knowledge and co-developing Funding Systems Change Tools, we promoted self-reflection among funders, enabling them to make informed choices about their funding mechanisms.
2. Support Systemic Impact: By making the tools ‘Funding Mechanisms Spiderweb’, ‘17 Guiding Questions to Funders’ and ‘Funding Systems Change Glossary’ accessible for free, we provide resources and tools for foundations to align with systemic change principles.
