Social Innovation Labs Training

  • Kubik 22 Zürichbergstrasse Zürich, ZH, 8032 Switzerland (map)

Guiding Question:

How do we develop powerful and innovative strategic responses to complex challenges by connecting with and activating the wisdom and resources of the collective - including unlikely allies?

What will happen:

This 1-day training is an introduction to the key principles, contents and aspects of a Social Innovation Lab process (inspired by Zaid Hassan and further evolved with Theory U).

A Social Innovation Lab is an effective process to address complex societal challenges which aims at generating social innovation. In a Social Innovation Lab, different stakeholders - participants of a system - come together in a multi-month process in several formats. In these iterations new insights are gained about the underlying causes of a problem, and solutions (prototypes) are developed and tested, thanks to the knowledge and creativity of everyone involved. Learn more about Social Innovation Labs here.

In this training, you will:

  • Learn what a Social Innovation Lab offers as an inclusive, creative and innovative approach to address complex issues and generate sustainable solutions

  • Understand the basics around when and how to get a Social Innovation Lab off the ground and apply it to real-world challenges

  • Familiarise yourself with the Social Innovation Lab canvas and apply it to your own context and challenge

  • Design a first draft of a Lab process for your context or topic of interest, based on the theory and real-life examples of the Social Innovation Labs run by collaboratio helvetica

  • Identify the most common obstacles and pitfalls in setting up a Social Innovation Lab and develop your possible next steps

This event is part of the Catalyst Lab journey and is open for other participants.
